Montana Law officers seize 89 pounds of pot

Montana state investigators and the local drug task force seized 89 pounds of marijuana at a Billings residence Tuesday evening.
Terrance Ray McKittrick, 22, was arrested at his house at 822 Ave. D about 7 p.m. after officers with a search warrant found the drugs. They also seized an assault rifle and two handguns along with $4,000 in cash.

Sgt. T.J. Vladic said the investigation was started by the Montana Department of Criminal Investigation. Members of the Eastern Montana High Intensity Drug Traffic Area Task Force provided some information and both agencies were involved in the search.

Vladic said the marijuana was stored in tightly packed "bricks" that each weighed a few pounds. McKittrick, who was arrested without incident, is the only person in custody in conjunction with the investigation, he said.

Montana Billings Police Department Lt. Joe Bryce said depending on how the drugs were packaged for sale, the drugs have a street value of between $87,000 and $140,000.

McKittrick is being held on suspicion of criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to sell. As of Wednesday afternoon he had not been formally charged and was being held at Yellowstone County Detention Facility without bond.
